Madison, WI — As September’s end draws near, a new challenge emerges: Inktober. Inktober, being right around the corner, is a challenge that engages artists to explore the medium of inking. Looking back at last year's challenge, I've learned a lot of things and picked up some tricks for staying on track.
Overall, this was my first Inktober art challenge that I participated in; I've tried/always wanted to try to participate. However, 2024 was the year I embraced the change and went for it, and with that, I was able to do all prompts without a miss.
Some of my favorite prompts would have to have been scarecrow, drive, exotic, and snacks. Being that I was able to explore fun and creative approaches, and also create new characters
Completing all 31 days of Inktober was a bit difficult, but having a rhythm and consistency really helped with following through with the challenge.
One of the last things that I actually expected was the growth of my social media presence, not a huge one, but nonetheless. For the most part, my lowest-engaged post was getting around 131 views, with the highest making 414. My lowest engagement was 31, and the highest was 201. Though not the point of growth and engagement, it was nice that it came out during Inktober.
To be honest, the thing that I'm most excited about this year is participating in the Inktober art challenge. Last, I really enjoyed myself, and this year the prompts look like fun.
As this Inktober challenge draws near, I'm excited to push my creative skills and connect with more artists. If you are a bit hesitant or need a push to join the Inktober daily challenge, just go for it. Have fun with it and enjoy the creative process.
